Family Status Change Enrollment Opportunity
If members have experienced any of these events listed below within the last 60 days, they qualify for a family status change enrollment opportunity. That means they’re eligible to apply for CTA-endorsed Disability insurance and up to $200,000¹ of CTA-endorsed Life insurance from Standard Insurance Company (The Standard) without answering health questions.²
- Marriage, divorce or legal separation
- Initiation or dissolution of a domestic partner relationship
- Birth or adoption of a child
- Death of a spouse/domestic partner or child
- Commencement or termination of a spouse/domestic partner’s employment
- Change in employment from full-time to part-time by member or member’s spouse/domestic partner

2020-2021 CTA Scholarships
The California Teachers Association is excited to announce the twenty-seventh anniversary of the CTA Scholarship Program. Online applications are now being accepted for 2020-2021 CTA Scholarships in the following categories:
? Dependent Children
? Dependent Children in Honor of Del A. Weber (Dependent Children Attending Continuation High School/Alternative Education Programs)
? Members
? Student CTA (SCTA) in Honor of L. Gordon Bittle
To be considered by the CTA Scholarship Committee, applications must be submitted online by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, January 29, 2021.
Online applications are available on the CTA website at: cta.org/scholarships.
Applications will be evaluated and recommendations presented to the CTA Board of Directors for approval. Recipients will be notified by mail and their names will be posted on the CTA website.
Scholarship funds will be sent directly to the college/university where the recipient is enrolled once appropriate paperwork is received.
